Elizabeth: Senior Vice President and Compliance Officer
Anyone who knows me outside of the studio knows I am a very type A personality. I like short, factual answers. I don't believe time needs to be filled with conversation. I don't care what the weather is doing. I want to get in, get done, and get out with whatever I'm working on. That being said, I have trained myself over the years to be social, inquisitive, and genuinely curious about others I meet. In my line of work it is critical to ask questions, communicate, and care about my clients interests. It sets the stage for an amazing photo shoot. 99% of my clients are very outgoing, social individuals. Their line of work demands a social personality.
In walks Beth! My 1%!! Beth started our conversation about updating her headshots by letting me know she didn't want to chat about my process. She wasn't interested in the psychology behind my process. Her current employer needed an updated headshot in her new role and she loved my work so wanted me to create her image and move on. A couple days before her scheduled session she inquired if the session would really take an hour and a half. She was hoping she could get in and out in a half hour. I knew I was going to like Beth!!
Beth arrived at her session ready to go. I met her at the door and told her to get in here, we had work to do. Beth was a natural. After a very VERY brief coaching session she followed queues perfectly, nailed her expressions, worked her way through 1 or 2 image sorts, and with a little advice on what I thought selected her image. From arrival to departure: 18 minutes.
I state my sessions typically last around 1.5 hours. For those that require numerous outfits, numerous looks, and a ton of options we can go over 2 hours. For those that know what they want and like what they see it can go much quicker.
It became very apparent to me that Beth must be a phenomenal leader. Although direct, she had a fantastic personality, warm smile, and overflowing confidence.
All the best in the rest of your career, Beth! Thank you SO much for the opportunity to work with you!
