Thin-Slicing

Thin-Slicing. It's a term that originated in the early 90s to describe the ability to accurately judge people based on very little information. It has since become a verb that represents the action of jumping to conclusions based on little or false information. If your headshot contains anything other than you, your audience will most likely make judgements based on that. Your headshot background says more about you than you think (good or bad). Since your image and facial expression represents your personal brand, don't you want your audience to focus on you? A clean, simple background paired with expression coaching from a trained photographer will provide a powerful representation of you at your best. Let me know in the comments below if you agree or disagree. Put it to the test. Look at anyone's profile picture right now and "listen" to your minds voice. Did you make a judgement? What does my profile photo say about me? I'd love to know.
