Why Get Senior Pictures?

If you're like me, you don't really think about photos of your children until you think about photos of your children.  Let's make that a little clearer.  Sitting at home watching TV, or eating dinner, or doing whatever it is you do day in and day out isn't the time when you pull up the pictures and ponder of years past.  I've lost count of how many school picture packets we have laying around our home still in the paper envelope, never hung.  Fast forward to senior year.  I have never searched through so many photos of one person in my life!  And I used to shoot weddings!  Graduation parties and open houses are a time to show your senior student off one last time before sending them out to the world.  A great idea is to display a photo board with the "First day of school' photo from each grade.  THAT is when all those unopened photo packages start to mean something.  So again, why are senior pictures so important?  Because this is the last time your beloved teenager will have a professional photo session.  The next one, in all reality will be their wedding day.  Senior pictures are the pinnacle of 12 years of school.  Senior pictures are one last chance to showcase your teens personality and style.  Once you have your photos in hand you will get the initial ohhs, ahhs, likes and wows, then you may not look at them again for a while.  But when that Wedding day comes and you have a bride and groom table, which pictures do you think you are going to reach for to showcase who your child is and was when they were single?  Is it going to be the cap and gown portrait?  Uhh Uh.  It's going to be their senior photo shoot!  This is why many photographers call their sessions investments.  You truly are investing for the future.  You don't want to arrive at that wedding day and wish you had done senior pictures.  You want to be prepared for those life events when photos capture that split second in time when they were your children, under your roof, and your whole world.  I sent my son off last year and have looked through photos of him more in this past year than I ever did when he was still at home.  I am so glad we took the time to capture quality photos to represent him at his best.  You can't replace that with anything in the world.  Let me help you create the memories you will be so grateful for not today, or tomorrow, but years down the road.
